Top 3 Reasons: Why you do not need a tablet

Hi Everyone:

Since the early 2000's we had seen quite a lot of trends being set and then just simply jumping of the cliff. Some technology trends from earlier this millennium have become giant sellers like iPods and Smartphones. But there are some technologies which were not so lucky to have the limelight they desired. One of these technologies is the Tablet.

Tablets saw a rise in 2010's with the release of Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Since then the technology has seen rise and falls but now it seems like we don't need the hefties any way. Here we present to you the Top reasons why you don't need a tablet anymore.

Bridging over a negligible gap:-

The first reason why tablets were developed in the first place is that they were thought to replace the need for laptop computers. But the thing that happened here is that people who are actual power hungry for works like video editing, Photoshop or animation. They still have to use a laptop or a desktop computer if they want their work to be comparable.

The other thing that can be said in this bridging the gap contest is that as since the release of first Phablet the Galaxy Note and now every company even Apple has their own versions of the larger phones. People are using more of their phone for the stuff that tablets were intended to do, be it checking email or quick look at a presentation while travelling or using it to watch movies in spare time. people are doing all this on larger 5+ incher phones then on tablets and are using there laptops or desktops for work.

Software (OS, UI) and application support:-

Every year we see newer more fluid software and apps are being developed for smartphones specially phablets. But have you ever noticed how many tablet specific OS and applications are out there. Well to my knowledge only one Google Android Honeycomb and almost non from Apple iOS.

This is the same story for the application specially games. Not much of them are being specifically optimized for tablets. It rather looks like even the companies Don't want them to be sold. Windows however tried the Windows 8 RT version for their tablets but soon they have realized that if they want their heavy surfaces to be sold they need a key board and a proper windows OS that can be compared to laptop version or the Surface tablet itself becomes a laptop with touch enabled and keyboard.

Cost of make/buy VS resale value:-

Seriously who wants a media device that costs more than 600 dollars and is not easily maneuverable as well as doesn't feed the hunger for power apps. When a tablet costs more around the same as your average laptop then it has to be some thing not less then a luxury to have a place under the same roof where you already have a more powerfull laptop and a much more squeezable phablet. And when it comes to luxury people don' really like to buy luxuries second or third hand. This makes the resale value drop like bonkers and still not find admirers.

This is the whole story of tablets right now that we feel has directed tablets towards suicidal cliffs. If you think we have got it right or if you think there should have been some other reason as well please feel free to rate, share, like and comment because it will help us to give good articles in future as well.
