Hi Droid Fans,
It has just been over a year that the original One Plus One was released. But in this time it has certainly grown into the market with a boom, from just the pioneer company of cheap yet excellent on performance android phones to the makers and sellers of the phone which made companies like Samsung, HTC and Microsoft dig deep into their own smartphones and bring up the mid range specs. The latest offering from One plus is the next flagship killer One Plus 2.
Design:
Take a first look at the phone and you will quickly notice that the design is much more bolder then before. It supports the same 5.5'' Display but have lower foot print as the phone is thinner and lesser wider then before. The next thing you'll notice is the addition of a Home button at the front bottom. The Phone is not metallic but is now available in 5 different back n battery cover.
Hardware and Software:
The phone supports a pretty nice 5.5'' Full HD Display, though not quad HD but it still satisfies your eyes easily. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Upfront you have a 5 MP HD Camera and on the back you have the main 13 MP 4k Camera with laser auto focus and dual LED flash.
Under the frock it has got a Snapdragon 810 Octa Core (Dual-Quad Core) processor with 3/4 GB RAM an 16/64 GB internal memory. The whole unit is juiced up by a hefty 3300 mAh battery and weighs at 175 grams. There is no card slot however. It is also now the very first android smartphone to support the USB type c.
Software wise the phone has got the latest Oxygen OS skinned upon Android Lollipop 5.1. The Software is optimized to give the best experience on snapdragon 810.
Price:
The OnePlus 2 64GB will cost $389 and 16GB will cost $329.
Performance and verdict:
Well the only thing you can say about any phone with a 4 GB RAM, is that it is flawless in daily usage. Shifting between apps and home screens is smoother then ever as these functions are not power hungry. The opening and closing of apps and even general working of apps is quick with smooth animations to follow. The over all daily usage experience is great but we have yet to see how it performs on high end games in our follow on One Plus 2 articles.
Internet speeds are supported by 3G/4G and LTE, which are best in class. Phones main camera has the lenses to capture but does not have the options that could dig in to the level of perfection for these lenses. Battery wise you can easily expect over a day of medium to heavy usage.
Over all it has clearly all the perks that one would need to call it the Next Flagship Killer.
