Hi Everyone:
Google has launched its android one platform to reach customers in the developing countries. Well, luck has served it well as these phones have got quite a buzz around them as they offer some smooth features of nexus series on a very low price.
Recently, Google joined hands with Q Mobile (Pakistan's Largest Cell Phone Company) to launch its First Android one device in Pakistan. Today, we are humbly presenting the review of this device called Q Mobile A1.
UnBoxed & Design:
Right Out of the Box you will see the device which is available in two color varients. Black on black and White on Black, We have got White on Black for this review. Along with the Smartphone there is a, Charging cum USB Data Cable, Charger brick, Hands Free and a Book Sleeve which is weired as it has some sort of resin to stick the cover n the phone.
It comes with a 4.5" IPS LCD Display with 16 M colors and 480x854 Resolution. There are a 2 MP Front camera, Ear piece, LED notification light and sensors above the display with no physical or touch sensetive buttons below the screen. Instead of physical navigation keys there are on screen buttons which look rather neat and feels premium. A 3.5 mm Audio Jack, USB connectivity port, power and volume buttons are also present around the sides.
Hardware & Software:
The Phone has some neat specs in the hardware department. It has a Mediatek Chip set clocked at 1.3 Ghz Quad Core CPU, 1 GB RAM and Mali 400 GPU. It has an internal memory of 8 GB and supports upto 32 GB memory card. It also supports dual sim with 3G support, WiFi and Bluetooth as well. It has a main camera of 5 MP autofocus with LED Flash that doubles as a torch light. Whole of the Hardware is powered by a 1700 mAh Battery.
Software wise the phone comes with Android Lollipop 5.1 but with our phone it was updated by Google on 2nd day to Android 5.1.1. There is also a claim about the software that it will get latest updates from Google upto 2 years.
Performance:
The daily swiping or shuffling around home screen and menu is a breeze. The phone does not appears to slow down in opening apps like messenger, calculator, dialer or any other built in utility apps. The Online apps like Facebook, Whats app and Google Hangouts all run smoothly but they are dependent on the strength of your WiFi or 3G Signal.
Benchmarks all appears to be good for its specs as it gets around 19-20 Thousand score each time we check using Antutu Benchmark no matter how many apps were opened in the back ground. Heavy Games and Apps like Injustice: gods among us and Asphalt 8 work satisfactory and are rather playable but the phone tends to head just a little bit (not to burn anything). Camera Performance is also Ok for the Rear camera and satisfactory for the front camera. The Rear Camera at 5 MP captures images sharp enough to like but still holds blurred edges in micro captures and far captures lack detail.
Battery Performs very well as stated by Google that the Android Lollipop uses less battery. This slang comes to reality as if you don't play heavy games the phone will easily be awake till next morning.
Final Verdict:
A great deal by Google and Q Mobile. Best performing android phone in 100 $ category phones.
Hope You liked this...
