Lunar eclipse: Science and everything else you need to know Red Blood Moon

Since the dawn of time lunar eclipse has been an unexplained astronomical phenomenon. Various religious and ancients cultural believes varied in the explanation of the whole eclipse thing. But the Blood Moon phenomenon as its name suggests, had always been crucial to many ancient and popular cultures. As some said it happens when some Nobel person dies, some said it happens when gods fight devils, some said it is a sign of bad fortune from gods.

Now however thanks to modern science we have research's which have proved how the blood moon happens.

As we all know earth revolves around the Sun and Moon revolves around Earth. So when the orbit of earth and moon coinside the eclipse happen. But the blood moon is rather unique as it is eclipse to the full moon.

When moon comes right behind earth and sun is on the other side all align at 180 degree angle. Moon tends to face the earths equator region. Earth's atmosphere filters out the light coming from sun by absorbing all the bright colored but shorter wavelength lights of blue green and yellow colors. The only light that pass over the edges and through the earths atmosphere is red light so when this red light falls over moon the queen of night appears to be red.
